The main building of Yumeji Museum of Art was opened in 1984 （ Showa 59 ） to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yumeji Takehisa near Korakuen, a famous sight in Okayama. The charming harmony of Japanese and Western architecture, with part white walls, part red brick, and a weathercock on the triangular roof, conveys the atmosphere of the Taisho Era, when Yumeji was active.
The main building houses approximately 3,000 works and materials by Yumeji, including scrolls, folding screens, prints, oil paintings, watercolors, sketches, books he wrote and designed, ・ music covers, and letters. The museum's permanent exhibition features approximately 100 of Yumeji's works and introduces his wide-ranging activities as an artist. In addition, several times a year, the museum holds special exhibitions on various interesting themes to introduce the appeal of Yumeji's art.
In 2007, the Honkan was ranked one star in the Michelin Guidebook. Also, in 2014 （ Heisei 26 ）, the 130th anniversary of Yumeji's birth was commemorated.

The Yumeji Folk Art Museum Branch offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the building of the birthplace where Yumeji was born and the studio （ reproduction ） he built in Tokyo, together with the nature of his hometown where Yumeji's art was nurtured. Located in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, it is about a 30-minute drive from the main Yumeji Museum of Art in Okayama City. The ticket for the （ Yumeji's Birthplace ・ and the Boy's Villa ） is a shared ticket.
Yumeji's Birthplace （ Yumeji Seika ）
Yumeji's Birthplace is where Yumeji Takehisa was born and spent his childhood until he was 16. Yumeji was born and spent his life until the age of 16. The traditional Japanese house with thatched roof, which is rare today, was built about 250 years ago. Yumeji's children's room, as well as the exterior of the building and garden, have been preserved exactly as they were when Yumeji was born, and are open to the public. Inside the house, Yumeji's scrolls, folding screens, sketches, and other works are on display. At the entrance of Yumeji's birthplace, a monument inscribed by Ikuma Arishima, "Takehisa Yumeji was born here," welcomes visitors.
Shonen Sanso （ Shonen Sanso ）
Shonen Sanso was designed by Yumeji Takehisa himself. The villa was restored in 1979 （ ） with the cooperation of Yumeji's second son, Fujihiko, to commemorate the 95th anniversary of Yumeji's birth.
In 1924 （ Taisho 13 ）, Yumeji built a residence with studio in Tokyo. The name "Shonen Sanso" (Boy's Villa) was named by Yumeji after a line from the Chinese poem "Drunken Sleep," which expresses his wish to spend a long spring day like a boy's day.
Around the building, sankirai, sawtooth oak, and other trees planted by Yumeji around the Boys' Villa are growing. Inside the building, visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of Yumeji's life at Shonen Sanso in the wooded area, and photographs and other items from Yumeji's lifetime are on display.
